Another pair of booties... it's my go-to pattern for when I'm not ready to start a bigger project, and I haven't yet run out of recipients! These are for someone at work who's expecting a girl.

Tuesday round-up
My current work-in-progress is now half-finished. It's a scarf (lace kerchief) meant to be knit from a single skein. This one is a birthday present for a friend.
Pattern: Miss Otis Regrets
Yarn: The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze - Peppino in Seaside Surf
I bought the yarn at Lettuce Knit when we were in Toronto in July. Rhichard happened to be in the store when we went in, so I got to meet him as well as buy a couple of skeins as gifts.
These are socks I knit for Dave in the summer. The yarn is Zauberball Crazy by Schoppel-Wolle. I love this yarn. It feels really good to knit, and the long repeats (longer than a pair of socks!) are fun. Time to dig these out for autumn wearing, now!

Pink toddler cardi
It's finished!
The yarn is Cascade Heritage 150 Paints. I bought it in Grant's Pass, Oregon in August to knit Tiana another sweater. I used the sizing and shaping from the Scrappy Socky Stripey Cardi pattern but made some changes (no stripes, obviously) to the finishing. I went for i-cord ties at the neck, because this is the design I imagined when I bought the yarn. I'm really pleased with it, and excited to have a finished knitting project after these months of not being able to knit much. The sleeves took forever, as I could only knit a few rounds at a time when I was doing them.
Here is the fall colour on the patio today:

Autumn Garden
We had beautiful sunshine yesterday and spent some time in the garden planting the garlic. Here is what I saw.
I'm hoping this is my blog come-back! I strained a muscle in my arm in July when I was dragging my suitcase through the streets of Toronto and Montreal. It developed into tendonitis and then some carpal tunnel issues, culminating in me not being able to knit for weeks in September and October. That's right. Not. Being. Able. To. Knit. Enough said... I didn't feel much like blogging.
Now I can knit in extreme moderation and I still wear a splint to be on the computer and to sleep.
Today I blocked a project for the first time in many weeks - hooray! It's a pink toddler-sized cardigan. Photos to follow soon. I promise!

Home again
We are back from our Toronto, Montreal, Eastern Townships trip and I've gotten everything unpacked and a load of laundry going. After some garden maintenance I'll deal with the pictures we took and post some of my favourites.
In the meantime, here's a shot of the yarn we bought on our travels:
Thibault is checking it out, of course. In fact, while I walked away to find the last skeins he started chomping on a ball of sock yarn. He does like himself some wool! I actually only bought 3 of these skeins, and they're either gifts or to be knitted as gifts. The cotton was a really good deal, and Dave will knit it into dish cloths over the winter, and sock yarn doesn't count as stash (especially since we give away almost all of the socks we knit!) so not bad over all, I think. :-)
